ECO4 Energy Company Obligation 4
Empowering homes with energy efficiency through ECO 4 initiatives.
The Energy Company Obligation (ECO4 scheme) is a UK government-backed initiative, aimed at improving the energy efficiency of homes across the UK
Introduced in 2013, the ECO initiative requires energy suppliers to install cost-effective energy saving solutions in some of the UK’s most vulnerable properties, without breaking the bank of eligible homeowners.
Since launching in 2013, over 3.6 million energy-efficient measures have been installed in more than 2.4 million homes across the UK, with wall insulation being the most common benefit.
Government figures estimate nearly £20bn has been saved from lifetime bill savings, all thanks to the government scheme.
As of 2023, there have been five ECO schemes, however, only the ECO4 Scheme is currently in operation. Eco 4 is a complete package to improve the energy consumption and reduce the energy bills which will reflect on your Energy Performance Report.

Benefits of ECO 4
The Benefits of ECO 4, part of the UK’s Energy Company Obligation initiative, are substantial for eligible homeowners and tenants. Here are some key benefits:
- Reduced Energy Bills: By improving energy efficiency through measures like insulation and heating upgrades, households can significantly lower their energy consumption and subsequently reduce their energy bills.
- Environmental Impact: Enhancing energy efficiency reduces carbon emissions and helps combat climate change. By lowering energy consumption, homes contribute positively to environmental sustainability efforts.
- Improved Comfort: Upgraded insulation and heating systems lead to a more comfortable living environment. Homes maintain more consistent temperatures throughout the year, enhancing comfort for residents.
- Health Benefits: Better insulation and heating can contribute to improved indoor air quality and reduce dampness, which can benefit respiratory health and overall well-being.
- Property Value: Energy-efficient homes are increasingly valued in the housing market. ECO 4 improvements can potentially enhance the resale value of properties by making them more attractive to prospective buyers.
- Government Supportive Scheme: ECO 4 is backed by the UK government, ensuring that homeowners and tenants can trust in the reliability and legitimacy of the scheme. This support gives confidence to participants in undertaking energy-saving measures.
Overall, ECO 4 grants provide a range of benefits that not only help households save money but also contribute to broader environmental and health goals. They support sustainable living practices and contribute to building a greener and more energy-efficient future.
